When we were looking for a son of Playgun, we wanted a stallion that could stand as a cornerstone of the program. This horse would need to have versatile balance and conformation, more size than most performance horses of our day and good, strong bone and feet to pass down to his foals. Not to mention some cow sense, trainability and a solid mind that we could trust. Playgun Will Travel, "Paladin", was exactly what we were looking for. Standing at about 15 hands and 1,200 pounds, Paladin was built straight and strong. As for his personality, it was not uncommon to see him being ridden around bareback in a halter or packing the kids around double when he was off of pasture from the mares. His sire, Playgun, has won over $185,000 in cutting events and has offspring earnings in excess of 7 million dollars. On the bottom side of his pedigree, Paladin's dam, Zans Diamond Desire, carried JD Yates to 2 tie down roping championships in 1997 and 1999 (record here), earned superiors in heading, heeling and tie down roping, as well as performance ROMs and reining points. Paladin's foals tend to be sturdy, sound minded and easy to work with. His 5 Panel Genetic Disease test results are negative all- around: HYPP N/N, PSSM N/N, MH N/N, GBED N/N and HERDA N/N.

Paladin's last foal crop was born in Spring of 2019. We will miss this stallion's excellent personality and look forward to carrying on his bloodlines through several of his daughters, as well as a young son that we have retained as a stallion prospect.
